Making the Most of uPVC French Doors

uPVC French doors can be a problem, it all comes down to how they were fitted in the first place, common French door problems can be the door catching on the thresh or locking points. If that is the case it is likely that it is really difficult to lock, which in turn forces you to put too much upwards pressure on the door handle, this breaks the levers in the lock.

By calling an engineer out before it gets to that point you can save money as it becomes maintenance rather than lock replacement.

The good news is that should you need a new lock fitted Castle Lock will have 90% of them in stock and usually on the van, should it be the case that it is a very old lock or one that is obsolete we will always have a solution to the problem. Expansion can also be a problem, this is usually more prevalent in brown wood grain doors as they tend to soak up the heat when in direct sunlight, this usually can be remedied by adjustment

Cost is always a factor and we are more than happy to give a rough idea of cost over the phone before we came out to you, if you need to call or just need advice on maintaining your uPVC French doors click below for our details
